WCAG 2.1 AA
Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use aurtide.com, and we build every client site to the same standard. This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
What we've done
- Text and controls meet AA colour contrast on both the white pages and the dark sections.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a skip-to-content link.
- Headings, landmarks and form labels are set up for screen readers. The brief announces each step and any errors.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the animated sections, smooth scrolling and transitions are turned off.
- Text resizes up to 200% without breaking the layout, and every page works on a small phone.
- No information is given by colour alone, and no task needs hovering or dragging; tapping always works.
Known limits
The animated "how it works" scene and the fan of example websites on the home page are decorative. The same information (how we work and what the systems do) is in the text around them. The example websites open in a viewer; each one is also described in words there. The embedded Google Map on the contact page is provided by Google; our details are also written out on the page.
